A Pair of Two
Who: Mike and Tobi, Kitty and fem-Leo are around, somewhere.
What: After a short rest, Mike and Tobi plan on exploring the upper floors.
When: Day Two, beginning. Earth time.

While Kitty and Fem Leo had taken their own path exploring the other floors of the space station, Tobi and Michelangelo recover after a short rest, and are now once again ready to continue on with their journy.

There is much to explore and vast grounds to cover. Hopefully, the two will not face any life threatening dangers alone. However, as their host continues to silently watch, will the two teams reunite once again, or will something prevent them?

Little is known, though much had been discovered. It is yet too early to claim aknowledging the reason for their presence here. Only one person knows, and so far no one had come across the host.

Will they ever?

Current Location: Space Station, Third Floor.
Current Mood: busybusy

"There was a crooked man
Who walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence
Against a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat
Which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together
In a crooked little house."

Tobi chimes off an old nursery rhyme as she skips down the hall in front of Mikey. She's put the awkwardness of the last few minutes behind her and seems to now be returning to her normal, happy-go-lucky self. She heads for the stairwell that will take them back down the lower floor. They didn't meet any monsters on the way up, so she doesn't anticipate meeting any monsters on the way back down.
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 05:54 pm (UTC)
Mike didn't really remember most of the nursery rhymes, he thought it was because he was much older now and they just didn't interest him anymore, but listening to Tobi chant braught a welcomed smile on his face. Just being with her was enough to help him relax, and though they had a bit of trouble communicating earlier, it felt that that little discomforting moment had passed.

It didn't take them long to reach the fifth floor again, so soon they were making their way towards the dinning lobby, hopefully the huge plate of fruites is still there. "Think we ought to check our bedrooms before we head up? I think there might be enough canned or wrapped food in the fridges to last us a while. It would be better to stash some than to just remember where we'd left it and come back for it later." he murmured.

"Knowing this place, it's like a haunted house, they would only surve us food for a while, and then take it all away and leave us starving." he muttered, rounding the corner and coming to the dinning lobby. He stopped, eyeing the knocked down chair he dropped while in hot presute by that dog thing.

Thankfully, the plate of fruites is still there. With a grin, he gestures to Tobi with a small smirk, "Ladies first~"
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 06:05 pm (UTC)
She smiles thankfully and picks up an apple, finding that the fruit is still fresh. She takes a bite, but then her eyes widen when she catches sight of something behind Mikey and she nearly chokes in surprise. Her eyes water as she forces the fruit down, but her smile belittles any discomfort it might have caused her. "Look!" she exclaims, running over to a small buffet table standing behind Mikey. There's s silver tray sitting on the table, steaming and smelling salty. She lifts the hood off the tray and squeals in delight. "Fresh baked oysters!! <3"

She picks up a plate and a fork sitting beside the tray and starts loading it up with the grayish things. The table also has baked fish, fried clams, and fresh salmon stakes all steaming in their own trays. Tobi is practically drooling on herself in glee. “Well, if they do intend to starve us, I’m going to eat like there’s no tomorrow!” She shovels a little bit of everything onto her plate, then plops down on a near by chair to enjoy. “Ooh! It’s delicious!” she squeals.
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 06:15 pm (UTC)
Mike watched her eat with a frown and a cold sensation bubbling in his stomach. "Um, Tobi? Not to ruin your appitite, but don't you at least find it the least bit suspiciuse that they're surving you your favorite meal?" he inquired, walking over and gawking at a pizza that sat steamy-looking on the side of the table.

He swallowed a lump in his throat, the pizza looked- mouth watering! "Strange... I would have sworn they were listening to our conversation in the bathroom, but I dont recall mentioning a pizza while I was here." he frowned, now confused, "How did they know it was my favorite?" he glanced at Tobi, a little uneasy by the well set table.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 06:39 pm (UTC)
"They've got cameras everywhere," Tobi replied, gulping down another bite. She chewed and swallowed and continued, "I haven't made any secret about what I like to eat. It's no surprise that they'd --"

Tobi's expression turns curious as she spots the table cloth ripple a table across the room, as if something just went under the table. "Hey did you see that?" she asks, quirking a brow. She puts down her plate and tip toes over to the table. She leans down slowly and pulls up the tablecloth, looking underneath it.

A foot-tall little metal thing zooms out from under the table, making a bee line for a small two foot panel that has slid back on the far wall. "A robot!" Tobi squeals, "I KNEW IT!!"
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 07:05 pm (UTC)
He blinked and side stepped as Tobi dashed past him, peeking under the nearby table and then squealing something about a robot. Clueless, he scratches his head and cocks it sideways, not fully comprehending what just happened. "Um, right." he muttered.

He glanced back at the food covered table and swallowes again, that pizza looked realy inviting, and as tempting as it looked, he weren't too sure if he should take a slice. for all he'd know, it could be poisoned! But if whoever braught them here wanted them dead, why bring them here and serve them food?

Something abou tthe whole suituation just bothered him, he couldnt put his finger on it. Defeated and hungry, he sat down on a chair and took a slice of pizza, hesitantly taking a small bite, just to test how it tasted. After a moment of chewing he arched a brow; it tasted fine, just like any other pizza he'd had.

Though reluctant, he gave a small sigh and continued to eat, watching Tobi curiously and wondering what she would do next.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 07:10 pm (UTC)
Laughing like a little girl at an Easter egg hunt, she charges after the little robot. It makes an abrupt 90 degree turn to the right and Tobi tires to turn too but skids on the soft carpet and lands on her side. A second later she's back on her feet, chasing the thing again.

The little robot - it looks like a toy in all honestly - zooms past Mikey's feet, beeping and blinking as if in panic. Tobi rushes by him, laughing and shouting, "Catch it! Mikey, help me catch it!!"

It dashes under a table and Tobi runs into it full tilt, knocking the table over and landing underneath it with a crash. The little robot goes 'breeeeeep!' and tries to make a line for the opening in the wall again.

"Don't let it get away!" Tobi's cry is muffled under the upturned table.
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 07:18 pm (UTC)
He sighed and put down his half eaten pizza. 'Was I ever this hyper when I was a kid? No wonder sensei said I never seem to be able to focus.' He sent Tobi's cloaked figure a look, before the small silvery figure zoomed past his feet. He huffed and dashed after it, using one chuck to whack the little guy on the feet- err- wheels? Or whatever it used to run around to fast.

The robot rolls onto the floor and struggles to get back up using it's streatchy rubber like robotoc arms, but Mike had apperantly dented one of the tank-like wheels, and the little guy moves a little slower now. Easily he swoops in and grabs the little robot by the strange looking lump-like box ion it's back.

He quietly glances at Tobi, not saying a word, he just put the beeping robot in sight so she'd be able to see him once she got herself free.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 07:36 pm (UTC)
Tobi pushes the table off of her back with a grunt and dusts herself off. She shouts in glee when she spots Mikey with the little robot.

She dashes forward and holds out her hands, as if Mikey's got a giant teddy-bear, not a little robot. She takes is and pecks him on the cheek, then spins around hugging the poor little bot to her plastron and giggling like an idiot. "A real robot! I knew it! I knew it! Eee! This place is awesome!!"

She holds out the poor little beeping thing, inspecting it's dented wheel-case, then it's retractable arms, and it's big round optical sensors. "Did you put the food out?" she asks with a big smile, holding it up to look at it's metal 'face'. "Beep once for yes, twice for no."

It gives one short beep and even nods.

"Eee! Verbal inquiry recognition and cognitive response function! Eeeeeeeee!!" Tobi hops up and down, giggling and squealing like a little girl at Christmas. “Can I keep it, Mikey? Pleaaaaaaase?”
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 07:42 pm (UTC)
Mike struggles to keep himself from laughing. It's almost as if she suddenly went high on sugar or something, but in a cute kinda way. It made him wonder if his father felt or thought the same whenever Mike himself went hyper, wrecking chaos in the lair.

At her plea, he shrugged a shoulder, "I dont see why not." he replied. His cheek tingled where she had kissed him, and a small dopy grin spread across his face. "Wow, you really like robots that much?" he shifted his weight to one leg and crossed his arms over his plastron.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 07:53 pm (UTC)
"I LOVE robots!" she grins, squeezing the little metal thing to her plastron. It goes 'brreeeee!' in protest and its little optic sensors seem to express a 'help me!' look. It doesn't make any move to get away however, apparently it's not programmed to defend itself.

Food completely forgotten in lue of this new toy, Tobi sits on a couch and sets the robot in her lap, inspecting it fully. She turns it over and it beeps and blinks and wriggles it's little metal 'hands'. "It's got a serial number engraved on the bottom. Looks like it's called a service droid. This one's number K-047. I'm going to call him 'Kayoh' for short!"

She puts him back upright and holds him out in front of her, suddenly looking serious. "Do you know who's keeping us here??" she demands. It nods. "Who!?"

The little thing beeps and flashes for about five minutes before Tobi's excited look dead pans. "Of course. Binary. GREAT."
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 08:02 pm (UTC)
"Um, I'm no Binary code expert, sorry." he said, thinking she probably didn't know what the little guy said either. He knelt besides the robot and tapped it on the head, "Hey, Kyoh? Can you speak Mars code?" he wondered, but the robot just seemed to look at him blankly. He looked at Tobi, wondering if she could do anything about it.

"I havn't used my mars code lessons in a while, so even if he did use it, I'd probably mis half of it. I'm kinda rusty." he smiled sheepishly. HE complemented the thought about telling her about Pr. Honeycytt, but then figured the guy would rather not bump into Tobi, not until Mike figures out a way to prevent her from dissassembling the guy into pieces.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 08:09 pm (UTC)
"What's Mars code?" she asks, quirking an eye brow in curiosity. She shakes her head and looks down at the robot. "Can you interpret Mars code?" she asks. "One beep for yes, two beeps for no."

The little robot beeps three times. Apparently it has no clue what Mars code is either.

Tobi’s mouth quirks into a little frown. Then she gasps as an idea comes to her. “Oh! Where’s my laptop??” She tucks the robot under her arm like a football, then grabs their gym bag and digs out her laptop. She sets the laptop on the table and Kayoh next to it. …And she just manages to grab Kayoh again before he zooms off the table. She puts the robot on it’s back and it’s little wheeled feet wiggle in protest, but she ignores him. She draws a cable out of the laptop and plugs it into the robot, typing away as schematics and garbled text fly by on the screen.

“Aw, poor little thing. Half his hard drive has become corrupted! I’m surprised he can function at all…”
nexus_champion on March 5th, 2007 08:18 pm (UTC)
Mike was a little stunned Tobi didn't know Mars code; did he mistaken it for another name, or did she not have that type of code in her homeworld?

Mike grabbed the little guy before he could try to unplug himself from the laptop, playfully hitting the outstreatched hand, "Bad boy! Behave!" he chided, and then kept one hand on the robot's hand, grasping it securly and the little fellow struggled to free his streatchy limb. Mike's other hand rested on the table, eyeing the screen.

"Strange, I've not seen any codes looking liek that before." he piped up, wrinkling his snout at the bits and pieces he could read- or barely, of the script. "Is that English at all? It doesn't look like anything I know of." he muttered.
tobi_ridley on March 5th, 2007 08:27 pm (UTC)
Tobi giggled, "Yes... Well... Sorta. Any programming language isn't 'English' per se, but they all work on the same basic concepts..."

She stays silent for a few minutes as she reads the info, then her computer dings. "Okay, I've downloaded everything off his hard drive. It'll take a while for the laptop to de-encrypt everything, but I'll be able to go through it all later. So far though, it seems obvious that this little guy has been the one supplying our meals and keeping this place clean..."

She takes her pocket watch out and starts to disassemble it's wheels. The little thing breeps and beeps and lights up, making a bunch of fuss but it doesn’t make any move to stop her or to try and get Mikey's hands off of him. She takes off his wheels and puts them in her pocket, then clicks her knife closed. "There, he won't get far now."
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 03:29 am (UTC)
'Twist his arm why don'tcha?' he felt like commenting with a weary smile, but refined. It was just a little robot, not that having a few gears taken out would hurt; not unless he has a sensitivity unit like Pr. Honeycutt did, anyway.

"So~ What -exactly- can we make out from all of this? I mean, can you at least see how it functions and stuff?" he asked from over her shoulder, glanced at the robot and then back at the screen, "I think one little guy keeping the whole station clean sounds awful farfiched, there must be more of him around." he argued, paused for the umptenth time, and then added, "It's just a question of how many, and where they're all hiding, and more importantly, who's keeping them in shape."
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 12:14 pm (UTC)
"There ARE more of him," Tobi smiles, "A whole army of them apparently. According to this every unit is assigned to a small section of the space station. This little guy has been assigned to most of this floor and the floor above us, which explains why our rooms were nice and stocked up and why there's food here. Each unit is responsible for the health and comfort of the beings housed on their floors, however they usually aren’t meant to be seen."

She reaches over and pats the little robots head, smiling in a motherly way. "A LOT of his software has been corrupted, so I'm going to erase if from his hard drive and write new software for him. He'll be a lot more use to us if he doesn't try to run away all the time."

"I'll keep the corrupted data on my laptop and try to recover it, but it'll take some time." She glances at her screen and sighs, "About 30 hours of time."

"But! Good news! Watch this!" She types a few lines of code on her laptop then looks at Kayoh and grins, "Engage optical illumination." The thing beeps at her and turns its head in a curious expression. Tobi sighs and roll she eyes, "Turn on yer eye-lights." It beeps again, this time as if saying 'ooooh' and it's optical units flare to life like a pair of halogen flashlights. Tobi giggles triumphantly.
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 01:28 pm (UTC)
Clueless to what was so great about the tiny tin-can, Mike just watches Tobi, the robot and the screen with mild interest. True when he was younger, he would have flipped and make a rackus if he so claimed a robot, but now it didn't really phase him much, it was more Don's apartment, anyway.

"30 hours is a long time, think your laptop needs to be plugged during the whole process?" he asked, wondering if it would be a good idea to leave the item processing and come back later to check the resaults, only to realize someone had taken it or curropted it in a way, if not infected the laptop somehow.

"What if the little guy has a virus inscripted in him? What if the currupted data IS the virus?" he inquired, really confused.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 01:38 pm (UTC)
"I don't think it needs to be plugged in," Tobi smiles, shaking her head. "It's been on for the last day and it doesn't seem the least bit bothered. I know it's physically impossible for technology on my planet, but I think my laptop is actually drawing power remotely. So, yeah, we can leave it on for thirty hours, no problem."

She pets Kayoh's head again and the robot turns it's head to look at her, beeping quietly. "If he DOES have a virus, it's too advanced for me to even detect, but I very much doubt he does. I think the corruption is just due to his age and disuse. Even so, why would someone virus a service drone?" She chuckles and shoots him a playful look, "There you go worrying again."

"But! On the plus side, we now have a way of dealing with those monsters!" she grins brightly and claps her hands.
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 01:50 pm (UTC)
Mike blinked, "We do?" he rubbed his head, confused at her statement. He glanced at the robot that glanced back and beeped quietly, almost with a 'Hey! Don't look at me! I'm just as clueless as you are!' look, on it's seemingly faceless face.

He furrowed thoughtfully at the robot then glanced at Tobi with an arched brow, "You're not thinking of sending him off to get those lights switched back on in the lobby where the nasty beasties are lurking, are you?" he murmured.

"Because though I guess it could work, remember that those things apperantly detect sounds, and if they can somehow chancew the magnetic pressure in the air and disturb the lights, take them out even, then there is a rist they'd turn this guy's circits fritz if they sensed he was a threat in anyway. Remember they're animals in a way, they may be inttelectually inferior, but we dont know how aware they are of their surroundings."

He blinked, and then wondered if this is how Don felt whenever he tried to drive a thought home to Leo or Raph.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 01:57 pm (UTC)
"Oh, I'm well aware of that. I'm not going to throw this little guy to the sharks -- er, monsters," she replies, picking up the bot and hugging it again. "But I can use him has a signal jammer! Those monsters seem to use harmonic frequencies to control the flow of electricity around them. If I can configure Kayoh to send out similar frequencies, they'll cancel each other out." She smiles brightly, then lowers her eyes, her bottom lip sticking out in a pout, "Unless... you think that's a bad idea..."

Tobi wants to confront the monsters and get past them to the main part of the space station, thinking that the answers they seek would be found there, but she also knows that so far most of her ideas have just gotten them in trouble and it's Mikey's instincts and quick thinking that have kept them both alive. She doesn't like avoiding a fight at all, but she dislikes dying even more.

"...What... What do you think we should do, Mikey?"
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 02:08 pm (UTC)
"I don't think it's a bad idea, it sounds like pretty logical idea, actually. Then again, I'm technically challenged, -and I repeat: I blackout a city,- so maybe you're onto something." he grinned in a friendly manner, "But can you pin down the frequincy?" he quirked a curiouse brow.

"I mean, If we're lucky, those things might get confused with what the shell is causing the odd ones out, especially when the one emitting them is Kyoh over here." he looks at the robot who only seems to glare back, "If they're not that intellegent, they might think he's one of them, but get confused why he looks odd, ya know?" he grinned.

"We can give it a try, but first we need a backup plan in case things backfire. Either the frequincy doesnt work, the lights dont work, or if there is more than one dog thing at the bridge." he then frowned a little, "From what I remember of the map, the bridge is well guarded, and I think there is a dog thing at each end. In other words, if we manage to pass the one at the entrance, we'll find ourselves face to face with the one at the exit."

"Of course, assuming there is nothing waiting for us in the middle, I mean." he looked at the robot again, "You woudn't happen to have a noise-maker or a bright disco ball on you, would you?" he said teasingly.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 03:40 pm (UTC)
Tobi's face brightens when Mikey approves her plan. She's thankful he's even considering it, and she nods enthusiastically to his input. A backup plan would be a very good idea.

"Well to get a lock on the frequency I'd have to get close enough to get a sample..." She rubs her chin thoughtfully knowing that confronting a monster would be too dangerous for Mikey to consider. "What if we got Leo and Kitty to help us? I'm sure you and Leo could handle one of those monsters if it got out of hand, and if things REALLY got bad Kitty could phase us out of the area, right?"

She laughs to herself, "Besides, I kinda miss Kitty. And Leo seemed really nice. She kinda reminded me of my mom... Except with swords."
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 03:52 pm (UTC)
"In the law of crows: 'It is wiser to fear a boy with a stick than a man with a shotgun.' Why? A man knows what he's doing, but the boy doesn't." he smirked. "I think Kitty and- Leo left for some time now. any idea where they could have went? Since I was asleep at the time, I dont think I can be of any help to locate them." he admitted.

"I'm guessing they could be in any of the lower floors. We're on the Fifth floor now, so they're probably either on one of the upper floors and we missed them, or on one of the lower floors exploring." he shufted his weight to one side and grinned at the robot, "Main objective is to make sure little Kyoh here doesn't decide to split." he poked the bot playfully.

but that was enough to irk the little tin-can and Mike was gifted with a shart jolt. With a loud yelp and jump, Mike hopped a short distance away shaking his buzzed hand, before gripping the hurting finger, eyes glossy with pain, "Owie! that hurt!" he grouched at the robot, but it was more a puppy-faced expression than an angry one.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 04:20 pm (UTC)
"Law of crows?" Tobi echoed tilting her head curiously, "That's a good quote..." She makes a mental note to ask Mikey about this 'law of crows' thing later.

"I think Leo and Kitty mentioned checking the seventh floor, y'know, the one above the one where we met them?" she explains, then she giggles and Mikey mentions the little robot. "Don't worry, he can't get far without his wheels. Besides, I intend to reprogram him to stick close to us and respond to our voice commands."

She gapes as the little robot shocks Mikey. But poor Mikey, she seems more excited about the fact that Kayoh can produce electrical charges then worried about Mikey's buzzed finger. She rubs her cheek against the robots head affectionately and giggles, "Serves you right for poking the poor little guy! <3"

She closes the laptop, letting it run while it's in standby and puts it back in her bag. She holds the bag out to Mikey, apparently intending to carry the robot instead. "How's this sound? We go to our rooms and get some food to carry with us, then we go find the girls? At the very least we should make sure they're okay, right? Besides, we don't have anything better to do besides go monster hunting."

She notices that he's still clutching his finger, and she grins flirtatiously. "Aw, poor Michelangelo. Do you want me to kiss it and make it better?" she asks sweetly.
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 04:34 pm (UTC)
He pouted at her giggles and favoring the little tin can over his little 'shocking' experiance, so he sulks in reply, tenderly rubbing his sore finger. When she offers to 'kiss and make it better' his eyed widen and his jaw is set tight, resisting the urge to flash a wide cheeky grin.

Instead, he caughed to clear his throat and accepts the gym bag, putting the strap over his head so it would cross his chest, must liek how his brainy brother would stap on his magic bag. Clearly,, since Mike is bulkier than Tobi, not to mention a little taller, the bag appears more fitting under his arm; he could easily sling his arm lazily over the bag, and reach the zipper with ease if needed.

He gave his finger one last rub, but it was stilla little irritated and sore; timidly he wanted to take her up on her offer, but didn't know if she was seriouse or just teasing. Nevertheless, he decided to push aside his shyness for once and offered his hand, willing his warming face not to change color and show how embaressed he is with his own reply.

"Would you?" he sent her a puppy face, giving the little tin can a 'This is all your fault!' sour look.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 05:39 pm (UTC)
Tobi laughs and takes his hand, pressing a kiss on his finger, "There ya go, babe. Better?"

The little robot issues a long, low beep and rolls it's optical units, but Tobi doesn't seem to notice. She walks over to the table and pops one last baked oyster into her mouth, then heads for the door.

She stops at the doorway leading out of the lobby and turns to him, grinning and holding out her hand.
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 05:54 pm (UTC)
"You have a thing with holding hands, don't you." Mike chuckled and accepted her hand, fingers intertwined they casually made their way across the lobby towards the dorms, to check through the fridges and see what they could gather for food and supplies. His finger still tingeled, but it wasn't all that uncomfortable, it was more bareable now, and the feel of her lips gently pressed to the pad of his fingers had him grinning like a dope.

If Raph was here, he'd probably coment sarcastically and say something along the line of: 'What else is new?' or just a snort.

Mike didn't care, Tobi's honest offer to kiss his finger told him she wasn't teasing, and it encouraged him to relax; he shot the robot a glare though, yet smirking. If the thing thinks it could get between him and Tobi, then its got another thing coming, and it wont be just his chucks flinging it across the room!

Once nearing the bedrooms, Mike led them into his abandoned bedroom, then took a moment to check if there had been anything out of place. So far, nothing; everything seemed to be just as they had left it. He released Tobi's hand and marched towards the fridge, opening the small fridge, he took out the candies, wrapped sandwiches and some cans of chocolate milk, juice and coke, stuffing them neatly into the bag.

He didnt want the cans to bang against each other and/or burst, it'll just soak the items inside the gym bag and render them useless. But he didnt want to overload or take too little. They were supplying food for four right right now, and if any new comers were to make an apperance, then there was still Tobi's room, as well as the others rooms to check the fridges.

If there were more robots around, then the place is probably well stocked to keep them well fed, but he didn't know for how long and they had to ration their findes for a while. Also, with the dog things lurking about, they'll need to find more medical supplies, just in case. Sure he can fight, but he's only human and prone to fluke some time during a fight. Plus, he had a sense of danger to alert him in case danger was drawing near, but he didn't know abotu the others.

'Better safe than sorry; eh Donny?' he smiled to himself, wistful and missing his family.
tobi_ridley on March 6th, 2007 06:23 pm (UTC)
"What's wrong with holding hands?" Tobi smiles as they walk. Holding hands ins't something that everyone on Tobi's planet does, in fact a lot of creatures dislike being touched altogether. But Tobi's the kind of person that’s fond of hugs and kisses and touches and cuddles, and it shows. "Besides, it makes me feel safer."

She waits patiently as Mikey loaded up their bag with food from his fridge. "Do you think that'll be enough, or should we go up to my room and check the fridge in there too?" she asks.

Kayoh stares intently at Mikey as he empties the refrigerator, blinking silently.
nexus_champion on March 6th, 2007 06:36 pm (UTC)
"No need to do that, I'm just loading what would last four people for a day or two, no need to overload ourselves with hoards of food, it'll only slow us down." he murmured as he closed the fridge closed. He pushed up to his feet and felt the bag weight down his body on one side, tilting him a little backwards.

So he reached into the guym bag and worked on arrainging the papers, maps and medical kit to one side, pushing the laptop to the side, tucked between the kit and the paper, and sorted the cans at the bottom of the bag with a layer of thick blank paper underneth. He didn't want to risk banging the bag against something and have one of the cans explode, so he used the paper to securely envelope the laptop.

Once the bag felt leveled and easier to carry with the weight inside balanced, he gave it an experimental shake and swing, just to make sure the weight wont burden him in case he had to run. It wasn't too heavy, but it would slow him down a notch; if he got chased by another dog, he could use it to clobber the beast, but he wont be able to run very far with it lugged over his shoulder, he'll have to forsaken it if they ever had to flee.

Hopefully, they wont have to do that. If he could find another gym bag, he'll be able to devide the lot and keep one safe somewhere, so they'd go back to it in case they lost the first. The maps will have to be reprinted, and he didn't know if the printer still had ink in it, and he didn't want to risk losing the laptop. Tobi already formatted Kyoh's hard drive, so if the laptop is lost, so is the curropted data, and possibily their only clue to why they're here.

With a small sigh, he pushed off and back towards Tobi, gently he grasped her hand and grinned, "Alright, time to climb the beanstalk and check if there is any giant up there~ ya ready?" he encouraged, grinning warmly.

A huge smile crosses her face has he takes her hand. Finally, back into action! "Shell yeah!" she cheers, jumping up and down excitedly with poor Kayoh still tucked under her arm.

As they set off down the hall, Tobi chants another one of her nursery rhymes, cheerfully swinging Mikey's hand at her side.

"The Queen of Hearts,
She made some tarts
All on a summer's day.

The Knave of Hearts,
He stole the tarts
And took them clean away.

The King of Hearts,
Called for the tarts
And beat the Knave full sore.

The Knave of Hearts,
Brought back the tarts
And vowed he'd steal no more."

She giggles and smiles at him when she finishes, "That one is one of my favorites."

He laughed lightly when she began to sing again, party satisfied with the bot's beeping in protest; surves him right. Mike didn't often hold a grudge like a hotheaded brother did, but that zap Hurt! The little glorified bot deserved to be annoyed for a while.

He chuckled again when she confessed her favorite rhyme, his hand holding hers in a tender but firm grip, "I rememeber when I was a kid, my brothers and I found this book with such nursery rhymes. We spent most of time editing the lyrics." he shook his head, "I used to try and see if I could add to it, while my brother Raphael used to see if he could scew it all up, or change the story all together."

"There was this one time when we were reading little miss muphet, she sat on a tufet eating her curl(?) and wheat, along came a spider, he dropped dead besides her, cause she used her can or Raid." he rolled his eyes and quirked a bemused smile, "And Raid is a brand of bug repelent(sp?), by the way." he added, in case she didn't get the joke.

Tobi laughs so hard that tears form at the corners of her eyes. She pinches her lips trying to quell and nods when she finally settles down again. "That's a good one. I used to do that too, although mine weren’t quite as good. The only one I can remember is for Jack and Jill."

"Jack and Jill
Received a bill
For piping in their water.
The bill was high,
Jill hit the sky
But Jack ran out and caught her."

"See?," she blushes, "Not very good." Kayoh rolls its optical units again, then goes back to glaring at Mikey.

He chuckled, "I think that was a good one," he chirped, absently paying attantion that they were heading up the steps already, their voices echoing in laughter, "I remember there was this one with Old mother hubbard, went to the cupboard to fetch her dog a bone..." he paused and tapped his forehead with hsi free hand, trying to remember what the rest was.

"Um, the cuboard was bare, there was nothing there but a payphone, I think." he murmured and then shrugged, "Not very funny cause I dont remember it, Dons' the one who came up with that one; but it's mostly about her ordering a pizza." he smiled sheepishly at the lame delivery of the joke.

Soon they arrived at the toppest floor, the third and arrived in the reciption lobby again. The note was still there on the couch. "I guess they didn't come back," he murmured, half concerned half non too worried. He glanced at Tobi, the grin was assuring but concerned still, "Okay, down the elevator loby is where I found the- dog things marks." he paused, smirking, "Not doggie doodoos, thankfully, just- his last victium, ya know? there were suty blood splotches everywhere."

"We can either go through the lobby by the elevator lounge, or we could go to the bridge on the other side of this floor. If they're the same dog or not I dont want to take any risks." he informed briefly, "Your input?" he urged.

"That was lame," Tobi teased, "Even lamer then mine." Kayoh beeps in agreement but she hushes the little bot with a giggle. "Don't pick on Mikey. Only I'm allowed to pick on him."

"We didn't explore all of this floor remember? They might still be somewhere on this floor. And there's still the next floor up too. Kitty and Leo mentioned that they were going up there to check things out. Lets finish looking around this floor before we decide to head into hostile territory."

Tobi adjusts her glasses thoughtfully, then adds with a smile, "And if all else fails, we can have Kayoh track them. He was able to observe us by connecting to the cameras, he should be able to find the others easily enough." The robot makes a disgruntled breep and kicks its wheel-less wheel wells in frustration.

"Sounds good to me. I bet they haven't eaten, too." he said, then shot the little robot a cheeky leer, lowering his head just a little to meet face to face with the robot, "Face it, tin grin, yer stuck with us." he gave a mock evil chuckle.

He strightened up and with his hand still intertwined with Tobi's, he checked the directory up the far wall, spying a small strangely marked room. "Hmm, if I'm reading this map right, then the big boss's office shoudl be on the other side of this lobby." he pointed at the direction of the elevator lounge, "Thankfully, there is a long way around, less likely to meep any dog things."

Casually, he walked ahead, keeping a secure grip on Tobi's hand, he walked ahead towards the far lobby that had led them to the restroom earlier, aiming to go around the place where the dog beast is lurking, and hoping it is nottoo close to where the others were at.

Meanwhile, for the sake of passing time, he glanced at Tobi and spoek quietly, not wanting his voice to echo too loudly in case the beast was out of its usual teritory. "So tell me, how do you suppose figuring out the frequincy to the magnetic wsves help counter them, or cancle their effect?" he inquired, curiouse.

"Well, remember how the monsters made those humming sounds when they were effecting the electricity? My cell phone can record sounds. It's useless for making calls right now, but it'll still work for everything else. I'll record the humming, plug my cell into the laptop and analyze the sound waves, and bingo -- frequency translated."

Tobi hopes she sounds confident, because she's not one hundred percent sure that it'll be that easy.

"Once I have the frequency, it'll be a simple matter of programming Kayoh to emit a similar frequency. While I'm at it I'm going to program him to be a little bit more friendly to us too."

She giggles and looks down at the disgruntled robot. She falls silent again as she walks beside Mikey, content in his company and feeling safer then she has in a very, very long time. “I kinda wish you were around when I was a kid,” she says quietly.

Mike glanced at her for a moment with her last soft spoken words, and his brows knit thoughtfully. She didn't go into detail, but he did remember she said she was enslaved and beaten when she was little. True he didn't know the full extent of it all, and he knew what it was like to be beaten up, but not when he was really little.

Master Splinter had done his best to keep them safe, and the only one who would bully him was Raph. But once their father findes out the short tempered turtle attacked Mike, even if Mike was the one to start it, if Raph lost control and overdid it, he'd lecture the hotheaded child and chide him about hurting his little brother.

Raph would often argue back on how Mike bothered him. Splinter would try to reason that Mike might have caused his brother irritation, but it did not mean Raph could beat him up so aggressivly. If that didn't work and Raph refused to listen, then he'd get a grounding, and if worst came to worse, Raph wouldn't be sitting on his extra tender tush for a while.

He gave her hand a slight squeeze and smiled her way, "I may not have been there in the past, but I'm here now." he smiled gently, feeling his heart skip a beat at his own words. He couldn't believe how cheesy it sounded, and it made his cheek warm up.

Thankfully, a lobby and an opened door came to sight, and it was probably the office. He could hear voices chattering softly in the -assumingly-safety of the room, and he recognized Kitty's voice, but he had no idea who else was there, cause it sounded liek more than just two people.
